Texas Parks No. 2

Another week of travel for Texas Parks & Wildlife, resulting in a site visit at Lake Casa Blanca where the contractor is continuing work on two Comfort Stations and completing work on the Restroom Facility. Project completion is anticipated to be third week of January 2012. Also, the final walk-through occurred at Chaparral Wildlife Management Area where the ADA inspection passed with flying colors; several items remain on the punch list for completion, however. TPWD will be issuing a Certificate of Substantial Completion as of noon, December 15, 2011. Last, but not least, a Substantial Completion Inspection was held today, December 16, 2011 at Goose Island Bayshore Shelters, and punch list items will be forwarded to the contractor. TPWD will also be issuing a Certificate of Substantial Completion for this project. A final inspection with the Registered Accessibility Specialist will be scheduled for some time in the first week of January, 2012.

Next project to be scheduled for Substantial Completion Inspection will be the Bay Front Shelters at Goose Island. Only two out of the 18 projects remain and are awaiting completion. Those are Davis Mountain Ranger Residence and Lake Casa Blanca Restroom and Comfort Stations. Stay tuned for further developments.

DJD Website Soft Launch

Testing, 1, 2, 3, testing...

Our website is up and running!  Changes to the site have been in the works for a while, and we're excited to have our "beta," our DJD 0.5, our "Light" version live and on the web.  Things are being improved, links to all of our projects are making their way online, and more.

December 1 is our official launch day, and there is much to do.  If you would like to jump on our physical mailing list to get the fancy schamncy announcement, send me an email.  They will go out soon.

Oh yeah, we are on Facebook too.  We have been trying to convince Debra to get Twitter, but then she may never get off of her new iPad...

New beginnings

Construction officially began yesterday on the Medina Electric Coop Dilley project.  As one of the first projects I worked on when coming to the office, it is really exciting for me to see the trio of buildings coming into fruition (well, slooooowly).
