Team Dockery Golfing Domination

Carlos R., Carlos C., and David took second place at the San Antonio AIA Golf Classic!  Together with a friend of Carlos R., it was a great day on the green, off of work in the sunshine, with long shots, putting, and birdies, beer, and food!  The team enjoyed playing the tournament, and will be back next year, with the rest of the office to cheer them on!

Davis Mountains State Park - Ranger Residence

Dateline:  May 18, 2012.

On this date the last project of the Region III 2008-2010 Capital Improvements Program came to a close.  The Davis Mountains State Park 1930's CCC Building known today as the Ranger Residence was finally accepted by the project team who had assembled there on this date for a final review.  Park Superintendent, Tommy Cude and his family will be moving into Unit 100 on May 21, 2012.  The other unit will be occupied by the Park Security Officer and his family.  This project was administered during construction by the professional staff from McCormick Architecture in El Paso, whom performed an outstanding job, bringing this historic renovation project to a close.  This project will be an asset to the Davis Mountains State Park with a refreshing new look.  The exterior walls were entirely refinished, as well as a new roof and electrical service.  The units are now provided with heating and air conditioning, having replaced the old window coolers.  Also, new retaining walls composed of native rock, were added to aid in diverting drainage away from the residence.  The interior was modernized with newly painted ceilings and walls, new toilet rooms and showers, new kitchen cabinets, breakfast bar and new appliances.  Hopefully, the renovation and modernization of this historic1930s CCC structure will serve the park Superintendent and staff residing there, for many years to come.
